Cochrane - Your Next Move
Here’s what you need to know.
So… you’re thinking about making the move to Cochrane? First of all—great choice. I might be a little biased (okay, totally biased), but Cochrane is one of those rare places that feels like home the second you arrive. Whether you’re relocating for work, want more space for the kids to run free, or just want a slower pace with better views, I’m here to spill the real-life tea on what life in Cochrane is all about—from a local who lives, works, and raises her family here.

Why Families Love Cochrane (And Why I Do Too!)
Let’s start with the obvious — Cochrane is beautiful. Nestled between Calgary and the Rocky Mountains, you’ll catch yourself pulling over just to take in the views. But beyond the scenery, this town is built for community. We’re talking friendly neighbours, kids riding bikes until the sun goes down, and a local vibe that makes you feel like you’ve been here forever, even if you just rolled in yesterday.
We’ve got farmer’s markets, local parades, hockey tournaments, and so many seasonal events I literally have to pencil in my kids’ activities and the town calendar. From Light Up on Main Street in December to food truck rallies in the summer — it’s giving Hallmark movie, but with better coffee.
The Real Estate Scoop — Because It’s What I Do
The Cochrane market has been on fire the past few years. And with good reason. Detached homes, duplexes, modern townhomes you name it, we’ve got it. Currently, almost 40% of homes on the market are brand-new builds, and if you know me, you know I’ve helped many families lock down just released builder lots and off-market options (yes, those exist!).
Some of my fave communities to show homes in right now?
Rivercrest - for its walkability to parks, paths, new school under construction
Monterra - killer mountain views, estate lots and a real family-friendly vibe
Fireside - with the growing amenities and amazing school options
Heartland - dog park, climbing wall and paths are almost complete
Commuting to Calgary
Speaking of commuting — let’s keep it real. If you’re working downtown, you’re looking at around 35–45 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day. But if your office is on the west side of the city? It’s even quicker. Many of my clients say they prefer the drive because it gives them time to breathe, listen to a podcast, and switch from work mode to family mode.
Living Here Feels Like You’re on a Permanent Weekend
If you’re an outdoorsy type (or just love a good river walk), Cochrane delivers. We’ve got paved paths along the Bow River, off-leash dog parks, and trails that weave through communities and into nature. You can hike, bike, or just wander with a stroller and a latte from Coffee Traders (trust me, order the London Fog). On weekends, we hit up Sunny Side Up for brunch or grab a sweet treat from The WOW Bakery. The Downtown street is lined with mom & pop shops that deliver the goods you cannot find online and or in the mall.
Work With Someone Who Actually Lives Here
This isn’t just where I work—it’s where I live, where I raise my family, and where I know every shortcut and school drop-off hack. So when I say I can help you find your perfect Cochrane home, I’m not just talking square footage and countertops. I’m talking about helping you find the right street, the right community, and the little things that matter; like a bonus room for the kids, a quiet office for Zoom calls, or a pantry that fits your Costco haul.
